Reconstruction of 500 kV «Abakanskaya» SS and Reconstruction of 1150 kV «Itatskaya»

Abakanska SS

• The rated voltage, kV - 500.
• The SS and switchgear structural version, reconstruction:
  - The 500 kV switchyard (3 bays for 500 kV OVL, 1 bay for the 500 kV shunting reactor),
  - Reagent storage building No.1.
• The SS and switchgear construction version, the new construction:
  - The gate valves switching-over chamber (6х6m)
  - Fire-fighting system pumping station (6х12m)
  - Oiled water treatment plant building (6х6m)
  - Fire-fighting system water reservoir V=300 m³ (2pcs.)
  - Oil header V=200 m³
  - The building built-on to the MCB building (2 floors, 12х12m).
• The switchgear scheme type - the 500 kV switchyard existing scheme «Quadrangle» is transferred to the scheme «Transformers – busbars with the lines connection via two circuit breakers». 
• Quantity of lines, connected to SS, per each switchgear- two 500 kV lines:
  - 500 kV OVL at Alyuminiyeva SS, 2-nd circuit,
  - 500 kV OVL at Itatska SS, 2-nd circuit.
• Power transformers and auto transformers quantity and capacity
  - Group of single-phase shunting reactors 60000/500 – 3 pcs. (to be installed),
  - АТ1 and АТ2 of the АОДЦТН - 267000/500/220-У1 type (existing).

1150 kV Itatska SS

• The rated voltage, kV - 500.
• The SS and switchgear structural version:
  - The 500 kV switchyard reconstruction
  - The building built-on to the relay board building No.2 (structure 12х6m) with closed passage (3х3m).
• The switchgear scheme type - the 500 kV switchyard scheme, existing at Itatska SS.
• Quantity of lines, connected to SS, per each switchgear- 500 kV OVL at Abakanska SS.
• Power transformers and auto transformers quantity and capacity - 2 groups of single-phase auto transformers 5 АТ and 6 АТ of the АОДЦТН - 167000/500/220-У1 type (existing), 2 groups of single-phase shunting reactors 1HI and РШ of the РОДЦ-60000/500У1 type (existing).

Brief Description of Main Solutions

At the starting complex stage for the 500 kV OVL connection at «Alyuminiyeva» SS (II circuit) at the 500 kV switchyard are to be constructed two new bays with two circuit breakers to be installed.

The existing scheme «Quadrangle» is transferred to the scheme «Transformers – busbars with the lines connection via two circuit breakers».

In the «Itatska» SS OVL bay No. 4 (I circuit) instead of the existing 500 kV disconnector is to be installed the new one, as well as in the bay additionally is to be installed the current transformer.

The 500 kV OVL at «Alyuminiyeva» SS (II circuit) is to be connected to the bay No.7 of the 500 kV switchyard.

In the bay No. 8 are to be carried out the junction by the circuit breaker and extension of the busbars 1Е and 2Е.

With the aim to ensure the lightning protection at the 500 kV switchyard extended part at the starting complex stage in the bays Nos. 8 and 9 are to be installed the bay portals with the lightning rods, which will be used at the complete development stage.

At the complete development stage of «Abakanska» SS is planned the connection to the busbars 1Е and 2Е of the group of 500 kV shunting reactors, and the 500 kV OVL 2nd circuit lead-in to «Itatska» SS with its connection based on 1 1/2 circuit breakers scheme with the 500 kV OVL 2nd circuit lead-in to «Alyuminiyeva» SS.

The reconstruction started in 2011.
