The Project Technical-Economic Indices

    - Reconstruction of 150 кВ, 35 кВ Switchyard;
    - Reconstruction of RPA, D.C. Control Current Supply System, PACS devices.
  • New Construction:
    - Installation of new Storage Battery;
    - Gate valves shifting chamber;
    - 15.75 kV No.3 indoor switchyard;
    - Anti-radiation shelter etc.
  • The Switchgear Circuit Diagram Type:
    - The available 150 kV switchyard circuit diagram «Two working sectionalized bus bar systems with the bypass bus bar system» (to be retained at the reconstruction).
  • Quantity of the lines to be connected to the substation per each switchgear:
    - 150 kV switchyard (fourteen 150 kV OVL);
    - 35 kV switchyard (twelve 35 kV OVL).
  • Quantity and capacity of power transformers and auto transformers:
    - Linear transformers of the ЛТДН-63000/35 type for АТ-3 and АТ-4 (new).
    - АТ2, АТ3 and АТ4 3 х 250000/330/150/35 with one ЛТ2 (Linear transformer) 63000/35 for АТ2 (existing).

The Project Technical-Economic Indices:

  • Total Area, m2 - 89000.
  • Rated Voltage, kV – 330.
  • Structural design of SS and switchyards:
    - Reconstruction of 150 kV, 10 kV switchyards;
    - Reconstruction of RPA, D.C. Control Current Supply System, PACS devices.
  • The Switchgear Circuit Diagram Type:
    - The available 150 kV switchyard circuit diagram «Two working bus bar systems with the bypass bus bar system».
    After the reconstruction there are to be «two working bus bar systems sectioned by the circuit breakers and the bypass bus bar system with two bypass and two bus couplers».
  • Quantity of the lines to be connected to the substation per each switchgear:
    - 150 kV switchyard (fourteen 150 kV OVL).
  • Quantity and capacity of power auto transformers:
    - АТ1 and АТ2 2х250000/150/10 (existing).
                                                

Brief Description of Main Solutions 

   At present the 330/150/35 kV «Dnіprщ-Donbas» SS - has fourteen lines with 150 kV double bus bar system and bypass bus bar system. Replacement:

  • the 150 kV main equipment (with the disconnectors to be provided with the electric drive for main and earthing knife-blades)
  • the 35 kV main equipment
  • RPA (Relay Protection and Automatics)
  • auxiliary electric power supply equipment
  • 35/35 kV, 63 MVA distribution network transformers (new, 2 connections)
  • provision of connection for each auto transformer (AT) to 150 kV bypass bus bar system.

330/150/10 kV «Kirovska» SS, replacement of:

  • the 150 kV main equipment
  • RPA (Relay Protection and Automatics)
  • auxiliary electric power supply equipment
  • current-limiting reactors, connected to MV (medium voltage) switchgear near to each AT. And auxiliary transformers, 1 MVA each.

   This reconstruction includes the decommissioning and replacement of HV switchgear, except those having been recently changed (approximately 7 150 kV HV circuit breakers, for SF6 with the proper metal structures to be installed at the new foundations) and appropriate cable products, control and protection cables, as well as Relay Protection and Automatics (RPА) in the buildings to be built.

Besides, for «Dnіprщ-Donbas» SS has been considered the option of new 35 kV GIS installation, with the aim to define the place required between 110 kV and 35 kV switchyard, by providing the required arrangement of the switchyards separated for each voltage level.

At the reconstruction of these substations there will be used the new concepts with the aim to define the configuration of these substations, which enable the PACS (Process Automatic Control System) to be implemented.

The auxiliary electric power supply system must be reconstructed and/or extended at the «Dnіprщ-Donbas» SS. The task is to add two diesel-generators with corresponding automatic switching-on with no power supply break, which is provided for their installation (a.c. 0.4 kV board with the cable for the connection have been prepared).

As for «Kirovska» SS, the auxiliary electric power supply system cannot be reconstructed and must be replaced by the absolutely new one so as to ensure the required reliability of 0.4 kV a.c. and 220 V d.c. power supply.
